#### Inhalt

The lecture has two parts. In the first part, we review classical general relativity. We explain the standard QFT approach to quantum gravity, and why it has to fail. We discuss QFT on curved spacetime as a form of linearised quantum gravity. Finally we give a very short introduction to string theory and explain in what sense it is a theory of quantum gravity. The second part is a more thorough introduction into a particular approach to quantum gravity, loop quantum gravity. The structure is roughly as follows:
